Videocodec is an immersive interactive installation conceptualized for the Lichthof at University of Applied Arts Vienna as part of the collaborative HDL Project.
The installation exhibits a collection of animated videos combination with physical elements. Through touchable gelatin sculptures and smartphones, visitors could interact with the installation.
While pop culture and corporations take cryptical data and make it uninterpretable for us, Videocodec uses a transmedial narrative, which unites complex data with an emotional sensibility. The intervening of emotional and virtual simulations leave the experience of data from the known black-and-white normative.
