post virtual garden was shown as a remote installation via facetime video call and a performance on the opening day at the kunstverein jesteburg as part of the "What Cheese are you? Video, Digitalisierung und Internet today!" exhibition curated by Malte Struck.
The facetime video call was projected on site, lasting the whole duration of the exhibition. Viewers often didn‘t realize it was live, and since the video was streamed from my atelier, while working there, I could interact with the viewers directly which startled them thinking it was a prerecorded video.
For the opening event a live performance was held via the facetime call, merging different aspects of my work. Playing with camgirl aesthetics, we created a live hair dying session as part of my internet hair series. With the viewers watching us getting ready, interacting with each other and the audience, watching us, observing, and judging we were confronting them in real life and out of context with a world they otherwise would only see online.
The exhibition presents numerous works by nine artists who deal in various ways with artistic production and reception of art and life in the context of the digital revolution. The show shows installations, photographs, videos and holograms that span almost every room of the Kunstverein Jesteburg.
